PREGNANCY PHYSIOTHERAPY

Pregnancy is very much an individual journey. Whilst some women will seemingly breeze through their pregnancies, other women may experience a wide range of symptoms that can impact negatively on their quality of life. Physiotherapy is well placed to provide a holistic assessment of an expectant mum, from 12 weeks through to term.

It is increasingly recognised that Pelvic Girdle Pain (PGP) is not just 'due to the hormones.' There are many factors that contribute or trigger PGP, hence why a physiotherapy assessment can help to develop an individualised and appropriate treatment plan.

Conditions may include:

  • Pelvic Girdle Pain

  • Coccyx/ tailbone pain

  • Rib pain

  • Back pain

  • Bladder concerns

  • Prolapse

Treatment is multifaceted. Examples of treatments include:

  • Gentle Manual therapy

  • Therapeutic Massage

  • Stretches

  • Strengthening exercises

  • Kinesiotaping

  • Nutritional advice

  • Education

PLEASE DON'T SUFFER IN SILENCE!!!
